NOTICE OF SALE:
Use the Notice of Sale Form when you have sold a piece of the managed forest or the entire managed forest. This notice is required by council within 30 days of the sale completion.
WITHDRAWAL OF MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT FOR AN ENTIRE MANAGED FOREST:
Use the Notice of Withdrawal of Management Commitment Form if you own the land and wish to withdraw the land from the managed forest program. This applies to situations where the entire managed forest is to be withdrawn. BC Assessment will assess the property as a different class in accordance with their timelines.
WITHDRAWAL OF A PORTION OF A MANAGED FOREST:
Use the Management Commitment Amendment Form if you continue to own the land but wish to withdraw a portion of the managed forest from the managed forest program. BC Assessment will assess the withdrawn property as a different class in accordance with their timelines.
Pay an exit fee if the property is withdrawn or removed from managed forest land class within 15 years. The fee is based on the difference between the tax that was paid as managed forest land and the tax that would have been paid had the property not been managed forest land class, with a discount related to the number of years classed as managed forest. Exemptions apply in certain circumstances, such as the expropriation or donation of land for public purposes.
